Freja - bandholm 28
Freja, a splendid 28 feet sailboat crafted by the Bandholm Yachts in 1977. Designed by Knud Olsen.
Tipping the scales at 4.5 tons, Freja carries her weight with grace, offering remarkable stability—a trait that makes her an ideal companion for extended voyages across open waters and navigating diverse weather conditions.
Freja might be a seasoned "old lady," but that just means she enjoys a little extra attention. Keeping her in shipshape requires maintenance, and believe me, it keeps me plenty busy. Yet, every scrub, polish, and fix is worth it when I see her glisten against the waves.
Since February 2022, Freja's been mine—though owning a boat wasn't on my radar at the time. Curious how I stumbled upon this aquatic partnership? Read more about my unexpected journey by clicking the link below. It's a tale filled with twists, turns, and the magnetic pull of the sea.

on a boat I've known for a long time - Freja
Where it started
My journey with Freja dates back to the days when I was just learning to walk. If you take a glance at the photo, you'll spot a young me in a gray shirt and silver pants. However, in those early years, the idea of owning Freja was far from my thoughts.
On the opposite side of the picture stands my Grandpa, Freja's owner for more than 20 years. He had this immense, indescribable love for the boat. I struggled to comprehend it in my younger years, but now I truly get it. When you pour your heart and soul into something, an unconditional bond forms.
Life took a turn. An unexpected event led Freja to lose her captain. Explore the story's details through the link below, where connections between people, passion, and the sea come alive.
